Summer, a real bad time to try striking native cuttings, not only
because of the heat, but also because it allows a callous to form on the
cutting instead of roots and cuttings may need nicking and re-dipping to
force roots to form. If you get them struck, then you need to keep them
out of the sun in a shady spot as they establish themselves.
